Thank you for visiting my site. As an avid outdoorsman and cook I am pleased to be able to share with you some great food and tips that will make spending time with your friends and family so much more enjoyable.

Original and delicious recipes

Everything you will find here is a product of my own experiences with camping and cooking. You will not find any mediocre or bland recipes that were hastily put in place to provide “filler” on the page. Every recipe on this site is something that I have proudly served to my own guests.

The Beginning

The idea for Camping Recipes came about in 2015, while on a tent camping trip to Yellowstone National Park with some friends. We had worked out a shared menu for 9 days worth of meals and even built a homemade deep freezer to keep the last few meals good throughout the trip.  I was placing some Satay Chicken skewers on the table for appetizers while my friend Ted and his girls started prepping his marinated steaks I started to wonder how many of the folks around us got to experience such great food while camping. I talked to family and friends about the idea, and was encouraged to start CampingRecipes.com

The Middle

As I explore this great Country meeting new people and gathering new ideas, I hope to bring you some of the best Camping Recipes, tips, and maybe even some camp gear reviews. I welcome any feedback about my recipes and content, and I would love to hear some of your ideas about what you would like to see more of on CampingRecipes.com

About Me

I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest surrounded by mountains, dense evergreen forests, and the sea.  I started cooking when I was a young boy, and spent most of my time outdoors exploring nature.  As a teenager I spent my free time hiking, camping, and participating in search and rescue as a Civil Air Patrol cadet. Volunteering as a Scout Leader has again renewed my love of the outdoors and great cooking and allowed me to share these things with my son. I  recently stepped away from a busy career as a manager for a large tech company to spend more time with my family.
